What is ANI Callback?
SIPME ANI Callback service allows any phone user to make long-distance calls by calling SIPME callback platform. The callback server does
not pick up the initial call but it will determine the CLI (caller ID) number, which will be used to trigger an immediate callback to the
user. After the user answers, the callback server will prompt the user to the destination number and connects the call.
You can make calls from your home phone, work phone, your mobile phone and can register as many numbers as you like to be authorised
to use your account. You use the service from your land line or mobile phone, so it does not require you to have any Internet and/or VoIP
devices.
The service will only work if your phone carrier passes CLI (caller ID) and you do not block your CLI.
When you make a call to SIPME callback server, the call will NOT be connected
(therefore you will NOT be charged) but our system will recognise the number you
called from, authorise your number against your account and call you back!
How is ANI Callback being charged?
The rates to individual destinations for ANI callback are exactly the same as SIPME VoIP service standard rates. However you will be
charged for two legs of the call. For example if you use your mobile number as the callback number and call and land line in Germany, you
will be charged:
Leg 1 (Australia mobile - $0.27/min) + Leg 2 (Germany - $0.029/min) =
$0.299 per minute
Billing for the first call commences as soon as you answer the callback call from our system. Billing for the second call commences when the
remote party answers.
What is the benefit of ANI Callback?
The biggest benefit of ANI callback is to avoid the high cost of calling from mobile to international destinations. Just taking the example
above, with ANI callback you pay $0.299/min for both legs. However if you had to make an international call directly from your mobile to Germany, the average cost from the three main mobile
carrier in Australia (Vodafone/Optus/Telstra) is around $0.20-0.36 per 30 secs (plus flag fall 22c - 35c).
ANI Callback is not a VoIP/SIP service, so you do not require to have an internet connection and/or VoIP devices setup.
Finally, if you are an existing customer of SIPME, you can include your CLI numbers with your SIPME account and share the same prepaid
balance, giving you the convenient option to use the service while you are out and have no Internet connectivity.
In summary, the procedures for ANI Callback are:
1. Firstly sign up and register your phone number(s) here
2. Call 0280023700 - the system will automatically detects your CLI then hangs up the call
3. The system calls you back in 10 seconds, answer the call.
4. Enter the number you wish to call (remember to enter the number in full international format eg: 0011442071234567) followed by #
5. The second call is made and connected
